Over Autumn 2025 - Autumn 2026, Wandsworth Town Property Partnership (WTPP) will be investigating how organisations and residents identify with Wandsworth Town and what they would like to see in its future. WTPP will be hosting a series of interviews, surveys, and workshops to gather this data.
About the Wandsworth Town Property Partnership
The Wandsworth Town Property Partnership (WTPP) is one of five Local Property Partnerships (LLPs) established across the UK with the support of Wandsworth-based strategic design consultancy, Transformation By Design.
At WTPP, our vision is for a future in Wandsworth Town where sustainable, long-term, and equitable property partnerships secure spaces for community use and benefit, strengthening the area’s social and civic life. We aim to lead with this vision in how we animate underused spaces that we occupy in Wandsworth Town.
The WTPP team includes Brendan Conway, a local community assets surveyor, and Shiza Naveed, a local researcher, facilitator, and artist. They are also supported Transformation By Design’s interdisciplinary team of designers, researchers, and facilitators who collaborate with local communities and partners to address complex challenges and shape more equitable, sustainable places.
WTPP is a social enterprise which has been active since January 2023. We are supported by Platform Places and funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
How can I contribute to the research?
This research project is split into two parts.
The first phase (November 2025 – February 2026) will explore local residents’ and organisations’ experiences of Wandsworth Town’s public realm. This will be through a series of interviews with local organisations, street surveys with residents, and online surveys aimed at local organisations and residents.
The second phase (February 2026 – June 2026) is inspired by Doughnut Economics (DEAL) principles and will develop a Community Portrait of Wandsworth Town. This will be through a series of participatory workshops with local residents.
The research will culminate in a report with a series of findings and recommendations in Autumn 2026.
If you would like to get involved, complete the sign up form at the top of the page and we will be in touch.
Why is this research needed?
Wandsworth Town is undergoing a period of rapid change, with the Wandsworth Growth Plan setting out a vision for over 3,000 new homes, major infrastructure investment, and the transformation of the Clapham Junction-Wandsworth Town growth corridor. This is one of London’s most dynamic development areas, combining new housing, commercial space, transport improvements, and public realm upgrades.
Against this backdrop, the Wandsworth Town Property Partnership is launching a new research programme to understand the opportunities and challenges that this growth presents. The work will examine the scale and impact of current and planned development, assess infrastructure and community needs, and explore how growth can deliver lasting benefits for residents, community groups, and local businesses.
What are the aims of this research?
This is an independently led project by WTPP that will engage communities through a creative and relational approach to provide evidence-based insights for our activities for the next two years.
Our research will inform our work in a number of ways:
The findings of this research will also complement Wandsworth Borough Council’s ongoing 'Improving Wandsworth Town Centre' engagement project.
